State of Play - Hogwarts Legacy Special

Let's go for the live and there are things to say. At first glance the graphics will live up to expectations. The movements of the characters seem very natural.

As for the player, he embodies a new student, but who is old enough to be in 5th grade. There's an old magic resurfacing. You have to find out why through quests and with the help of allies, many mysteries will have to be solved. Modelling is possible for your avatar and you will necessarily have to be affiliated with one of the Hogwarts houses.

We will be active in participating in the various courses. The voices (VO) are superb, the graphics to the point. Namely that the presentation is made with in-game footage and sequences of the scenario.

hogwarts 03

So we learn botany, potions etc. This seems to matter if only for the fights. Certainly we will have the opportunity to advance further thanks to the courses and I hope that side quests will also be present to encourage us to improve in all aspects. There are secret passages, dungeons and so many things to do and there you only see what happens at Hogwarts.

We have been warned, we will not be confined to the school and the surroundings will not be just a few squares of lawn. We will be entitled to open world and in this case it will also take a large enough world to make it worthwhile. It promises !

hogwarts 01

We see a very evil goblin and his minions. He is in contact with a somewhat eccentric wizard who seems to be after us. He’s getting nervous because the goblin is not capable to fulfil his mission sooner. The plot is also done through this being who wants harm in the wizarding world.

hogwarts 08

The fights feel a bit choreographed/static but the execution seems to work. You still have to be in the right rhythm during the fights. That's what stands out for me. It will therefore be necessary to pay attention to it in the future. Botany and potions will be useful and therefore usable to facilitate combat, such as the use of the mandrake. Many spells will also be available and we can have a fighting style that suits us.

The time for Talents and Skills comes, so we can improve and be entitled to upgrades to be better and cast better spells. Grind is to be expected too. You can create your own potions, herbology may be important depending on how you play. Useful even in combat as we said. It will therefore surely be necessary to plan hours of collection to be able to create and move forward. The more we advance, the more we will be entitled to upgrades and therefore refine our game system. Knowing the bestiary will also have advantages.

hogwarts 05

Broom flying is also possible. Presented only for a short time, it is however clearly noted that it will be important to know how to fly with your broom! Friendships can be created and allies can accompany you on your journeys. Each with its characteristics. Naturally each coming from different houses.

hogwarts 06

Room of requirement will also be available. You can use the room to expand your inventory with potion labs and other activities. I think that's a really well thought out plus. Indeed, this can act as a base and an anchor point for the player. In view of the style of the game it is just perfect to use the Room of Requirement in this way because it is in addition to everything logical even in the history of the game.

hogwarts 07

The Hogsmeade village next door is also accessible and purchases will be possible. A lot of activity will take place around Hogwarts, so we can imagine that the nature around will be explorable. In the well-known village you can buy many things, if only to have a nice wardrobe. It's always nice, we know that style is important, even for gamers.

The bestiary looks quite large and some mysterious black magic can corrupt some of it. There are all the animals we know and even the bestiary recalls certain moments from films.

Many things are to be discovered, spells, beasts, nature, mysteries, dangers. The game will be released for the holidays this very year! And here I say great! The game actually seems close to being ready and although I can't wait for summer to enjoy the beach, I must say that I'm already starting to want to be around Christmas for this game!

Behind the scenes

The team behind the game presents its impressions and the message is clear. The work is done by fans for fans.

They want to transcribe the love for the franchise whether it's for those who have read the books or watched the movies and still both. It is clear that it will be Open world. So the surroundings of Hogwarts will be quite large.

We will have many stories told, we start as a 5th year student but who was not at Hogwarts before. So we are special. The different means of getting around will also be varied.

hogwarts 04

Mysterious magic is tied to our character and it will make us all the more special. Everything is set up to allow us to recognize places etc. that are important to the franchise.

Even the places only mentioned in the books will be in this Hogwarts, they have done everything to connect the places known from the movies with the lesser known places from the books.

By the way the music is really cool. I wanted to say it.

For my impressions.

So, I must say that the video was really good! I'm not very sensitive to great graphics that slam, I'm happy with little. However, I must say that it is at the level of the vast majority of expectations. The game is beautiful, the graphic style chosen fits perfectly into the atmosphere of the game's history but also of the vast franchise that is that of Harry Potter.

Hogwarts Legacy should be a game for everyone. Even those who do not know (LOL) or who do not necessarily appreciate this universe more than that (come on LOL) should find their account there. The game allows you to fight, grind, solve mysteries, cross dungeons and live an original story. Everything is there for it to be a total success!

In the meantime, good game to all!

State of Play 13/09/2022

We get to the heart of the matter with a Tekken game. A beautiful cinematic. The sets are superb, the movements almost perfect and the same perspective in combat that we know from the franchise. Tekken 8 will be released…one day. No date or more info than that.

We are then presented with a Star Wars game for the 2nd VR of the name. We can't tell whether or not it's very immersive or easy to handle. On the other hand, the graphics are beautiful, the game has this humor that we know from the franchise and the action also that goes with it. The game will be released in 2023

Another game for VR 2 is presented. A turn-based strategy game. A game on a map, DnD style. The game is called Demeo. A tabletop RPG that can have its effect.

A game of Samurai with guns is presented next. Bloody, energetic and full of action. Like a Dragon: Ishin! offers a brief but striking presentation! The game should arrive for February 2023

We are presented with a few more details regarding Hogwarts Legacy. The video presents the darker side of the universe of magic. This is an exclusive quest for PS players. The game will be released on February 10, 2023.

We have the right to a visual in the first person. A man drives a visibly tampered car. There are monsters. The car drives almost everywhere in order to avoid all the enemies. The game is called Pacific Drive. The game is coming in 2023 and is intriguing to say the least.

More info on Playstation Stars: player activities earn points that can earn gifts to collect. In September Stars will arrive in Asia, before following in Europe and certain countries of America in the following weeks.

Synduality is then shown to us: We guide a robot that can extract minerals, equipped with weapons to defend itself against the animals / monsters of the planet (s). A short monologue that simply explains what is happening in the image. The game is planned for next year.

We're being presented with PS5 exclusives now.

stellar blade

It starts for an apocalyptic world where humans would have failed to survive. This is explained to us by an old man who seems at least partially robotic. Three protagonists are on a mission to save what remains of humans. They face monsters, robotic monsters, all in ancient ruined cities. The game is called Stellar Blade, planned for 2023

Rise of the Ronin is featured. The game won't arrive until 2024 and looks very promising. A game set in 19th century Japan. Hand-to-hand combat, even with a rifle. From the video we can understand that there is an internal threat, politics doing its corrupting work and there is an external threat with what seems to be Europeans or Americans who have come with bad intentions.

A new video about God of War Ragnarok. This time not for the game but for the hardware. A Dualsense in the colors of the game. White, a blue verging on purple and the design of two wolves.

manette ps5 godofwar

Then we have the right to some cutscenes of the game. Dialogues with Kratos at the center of the discussions. His son seems to know things Kratos doesn't. It's about trusting each other while destroying the threats that face them. The game will be released in early November.

State of play 25.02

State of play February 25, 2021

It's time for Sony's new presentation. To see what we will be offered this time.

First info is about Crash Bandicoot 4 It’s about time.

The game will be available on PS5 with the various additional options provided by the console and the DualSense controller. You will therefore be entitled to 4K and 60 FPS, the "adaptive triggers", so adaptation according to the pressure of certain buttons, improved audio and other bonuses.

For those who have not yet the game but the new console, this is a game that could be a real addition to your library. Another plus, the loading time is further reduced to be able to better enjoy the game and not have to wait. Transferring backups from one console to another is also possible and is available on March 12.

Second info concerns Returnal.

We will have the right to additional images. The protagonist of the game crashes with her ship and receives a "White Shadow" signal which is unknown. You have to explore a planet to find answers, everything is quite dull and dark. We realize that there was an ancient civilization. We see fantastic and alien beings there.

She wears a kind of Jet-Pack to better move, dodge and flee. She's got a kind of machine gun, she fights against monsters as different as they are frightening. If we die, it all starts again at the time of the crash. The world changes, even the map and enemies change as a result of the "new" crash.

Everything changes after his death, so you better be careful and be prepared to adapt to the new conditions that are due to the character being dead.

It seems that we also relive memories of her life in addition to being on another planet ?! On April 31 the game is released and we can enjoy it.

Third info concerns Knock-out City

The futuristic Dodge Ball game is also featured here (see Nintendo Direct). Game play is explained in more detail. We can shoot, feign a shot to be able to hit for sure. There are also different balls that you can use. How to move around the map is also shown and it looks very dynamic and you will have to get used to it and adapt quickly. The game is released at the end of May.

Fourth info concerns Sifu

We see a somewhat cel-shading and square graphics. We see Asian-type people fighting there constantly. You notice that the main character gets old during the story or every time he is knocked out? It’s not clear at first glance. We'll have more info later this year.

Fifth info about Solar Ash

We are entitled to a fairly magical graphics, very colorful and almost disco in the light. A smooth and fast platform game. There is a black hole that swallows everything, Ray the "void runner" that we embody will do anything to be able to save his world which seems very large. This is a movement game and you better have good reflexes and be prepared to die often. There will be more and more monsters and both timing and speed will be very important.

The game seems quite unique in its genre and the story can be fun as well, the music sounded very catchy too.

Sixth info concerns Five nights at Freddy's: Security Breach

A horror game, of course, we all know this franchise. The still terrifying animatronics, the music more than catchy and at the limit of giving anxieties. It’s brilliantly done. The levels presented seem very large for this kind of game especially. The voices that speak to you and especially threaten you mixed with the music manage to give you the jitters without even playing.

Seventh info concerns Oddworld Soulstorm

The game had already been presented and it had already been explained that the game looked very beautiful. We are confirmed here. We are introduced to game play a little more. The usefulness of having friends with you to be able to solve puzzles, you can choose to play as an anarchist or as a pacifist, you can take control of some enemies. You also need to have different items so that those following you can help you properly. You can play the way you prefer during the game. Depending on your actions, you may be more or less efficient.

It will be released on PS 4 and 5 on April 6.

Eighth info concerns Kena Bridge of spirit

We get more info and more visuals about the game. Little minion monsters, a girl who looks like a Disney princess and super relaxing music.

She wants to go on a quest and asks the sage's approval. He warns her and we then see the girl confronting enemies. We find ourselves between in-game images and small videos.

The graphics are very beautiful, the music catchy. The game seems to fill all the codes to be successful. The game will be released on August 24.

Ninth info about Deathloop (again)

The music we know is good, the game play we know, the story makes it pretty cool, the graphic style must be appealing. We review what we have already seen but with some different details. A really well done trailer, but if we have already seen the other presentations about the game, it will not bring you anything new.

Tenth info concerns FF7 Remake Intergrade

If I have to present this game, I have a question: Where have you been for the past 25 years?

So this is an overview of the version for the PS5. We see Cloud and Tifa, like Barrett and others. We also see Yuffi and his allies. We are entitled to in-game images as well as videos of all kinds. Always so beautiful, always so dynamic, always so iconic for those who like this genre.

You get a comparison from one console to another. The difference is not revolutionary, it is true that the light does make a certain difference. However there are times when I am not sure I prefer the PS5 version.

On the other hand, the music gives me chills. We are also shown how the loading time is reduced, the possibilities in photo mode and a new episode with Yuffi that will be available.

If you already have FF7 Remake on PS4, there is a major good news, the upgrade to the PS5 will be free and the backups will also be transferable from one console to another. However, the episode with Yuffi will need to be purchased after the upgrade has been completed.

This version will be available on June 10 across the world.

That’s it for the presentation, there was a lot of info but for Oddworld or especially Deathloop, it was still quite poor in additional info.

On the other hand, Solar Ash as well as Returnal and Five night at Freddy were quite striking. I'm not necessarily into horror games, but the atmosphere set up was really pleasant for the last game cited. Returnal demonstrates that it can be a major console game if what we've seen is true to the full game. To Solar Ash, it looks like a Sonic with a whole different graphics and vibe unlike the blue hedgehog, but in terms of game play it's pretty close. You have to be quick and it's a smooth platform game.

As for the rest, I'm not sure what to think. It’s to be seen in the coming weeks.
